On The Time Of Their Lives:
Brad: “The songs on this record just really take you on a ride. After we recorded this record we really made an effort for the entire record to take you up and down. It’s cool to put it in and listen to it from the front to the back.”
On The Better Life Foundation:
Matt: “We just celebrated our seventh annual event this past year. It’s kind of grown over the past few years. We’re from a small town and it was just something that we felt like we wanted to do to connect with our community and other communities surrounding the area. We felt compelled to help since we’ve been given so much. It’s something we look forward to doing every year. It’s been a great thing and we thank everyone for supporting it over the years.”
Brad: “It’s all through the generosity of our fans. We have the greatest fans in the world! All the donations to The Better Life Foundation come from the fans and they go straight out to organizations that need them and can use them. I think we’ve all seen some really good things as a result of The Better Life Foundation.”
On Early Life In Escatawpa:
Brad: “Escatawpa is a small town, way down in south Mississippi. It’s a great town to grow up in. We all grew up outside - I don’t think any of us were sitting inside playing video games. We all grew up together playing music and just chilling out. I think it was a blessing to us that there was not a ton to do there because we stayed over at Todd’s house playing music, and it led us to some good things.”
On Brotherhood:
Brad: “I can’t image really doing this job with anybody other than these guys. It’s hard to go out on tour and I can’t imagine doing it with perfect strangers. It’s so much more fun to do with your brothers!”

When You’re Young
Brad: ’When You’re Young’ is just about the idea of people misunderstanding the idea of how hard it is to be young. We all know that things in front of you are so much bigger than they seem to be behind you. This song is just talking about that.”
Heaven
“This is another song that I hope you hear a lot in the future. It’s one of my favorites off the new record, and it’s a great song!” So goes Brad’s introduction to a brand new track from ‘Time Of My Life.' Sings the Mississippi native: “I got lost out there in this world / Looking for a brand new way to fall down…”
What’s Left
With an opening riff that recalls Carly Simon’s ‘Coming Around Again,’ the boys launch into another new album track, ‘What’s Left.’ Sings Brad: “There’s nothing left to say / There’s nothing left to prove / Now it’s time to turn and walk away / From what’s left of me and you…”
Round And Round
3 Doors Down’s artistic growth is evident in this performance, another new track from 'Time Of My Life.' ‘Round And Round’ takes a bold new musical step; it's a stripped-down tune about the circle of life. Sample lyrics: “There’s one who takes it all / And there’s one who takes the fall.”
Kryptonite
Time for the boys’ breakthrough anthem, ‘Kryptonite.’ Written by Brad Arnold in 2000, 3 Doors Down’s signature anthem still sounds as good as it did upon its millenium release. Our Soundcheck crowd sings along to 3 Doors Down's classic lyric: “If I go crazy then / Will you still call me Superman?
Away From The Sun
The second studio album by 3 Doors Down scored the guys a number of hits, including the title track, ‘Away From The Sun.’ Here, it’s given an intimate rendering to our Tennessee audience. Sings Brad: "And now again I've found myself / So far down, away from the sun..."
Let Me Be Myself
3 Doors Down closes their set with a surprising finale, the second single from their self-titled fourth album. With self-affirming lyrics and a powerful message, the band exits on an uplifting note. Sings Brad: "Let me be myself / So I can shine with my own light."
