About the Show
“No me compares” is the name of Alejandro Sanz’s latest single, that is, in English, “Don’t compare me.” And maybe that is good and unintended advice. The song has already reach number-one anywhere where Spanish is spoken. Today, Alejandro Sanz has clearly positioned himself at another level, a latin-pop pantheon, repeating this number one thing, again and again. And just too few other artists can say the same.

The stats are amazing: over 22 million albums sold worldwide and a staggering 19 Grammy awards (3 American, 16 Latin). Sanz, who writes all of his songs, started in 1991 in his native Spain with his debut album “Viviendo Deprisa” and rode that decade with hit after hit, culminating with the iconic album “Más” and its love anthem “Corazón Partío,” which became an international phenomenon. The 2000’s were marked by more success and an expansion of Sanz’s musical horizons, incorporating to his signature flamenco-laced ballads hints of salsa, reggaeton and electronica.

Sanz new album, “La música no se toca,” is a fantastic and cohesive new effort. In a relaxed and open interview with Acceso Total, Sanz talks candidly about his writing process, the search for tone in his album and the expectations game. “I feel I can still surprise you all,” he tells us. We think yes! Don’t miss it!
