The first single from ‘Contracorriente’ is a catchy piece of pop/rock cooked up by Rafael Esparza-Ruiz and Luigi Gonzalez. ‘Mi Destino Soy Yo’ is also one of the many songs on the album written to empower young women. Declares Eiza: “Ahora mi destino soy yo.” (“Now, I am my own destiny!”)
Impredecible
‘Impredecible’ (or ‘Unpredictable’) is one of Eiza’s favorite songs on her new record. It also signals a slightly more mature sound. Explains Eiza: “I had a goal [with this record]: making my fans songs they would love but without completely changing my sound.”
Perdiendolo Todo
‘Perdiendolo Todo’ (‘Losing Everything’) is a big ballad about loss and love. Eiza may be only 19 years old, but she sings with a maturity and wisdom that belies her age. Sings Eiza: “Estoy perdiéndolo todo y mas, intente cambiar pero al final…” (“I’ve lost it all and more. I tried to change but it’s over…”)

Eiza closes her set with ‘Caminare,’ one of her two favorite songs on ‘Contracorriente.’ The rock ballad showcases Eiza’s diversity as an artist who can easily move between the worlds of rock and pop.
