Pop superstar Nelly Furtado is taking the Latin music world by storm with her first all-Spanish album "Mi Plan." Rarely has a general market artist been able to have such commercial success in the Latin market so soon. But Nelly earned her place in Latin music as the first single "Manos al Aire" burned the airwaves from the moment it hit radio. In the 12-track album, Nelly includes collaborations with several artists, among them Juan Luis Guerra, Alejandro Fernando and Josh Groban. And I think when you let go a little and enjoy the small moments, the quiet moments is when you really start living, and so that's why I called it 'Mi Plan'…" Deciding to do a Spanish album: "It was kind of in my destiny to record in Spanish… I ended up meeting Latin artists; one of the first ones was Juanes… And he said, 'you know what, your Latin, you're Portuguese so you can sing in Spanish too, and here's a song,' and it was 'Fotografía.' We got together and recorded it, and that's when it all started for me. That's kind of when the gates opened for me…" The current single "Fuerte": "My current single off my remix album, 'Fuerte,' is a song I recorded with Concha Buika… The way she sings is ancient, it comes from the earth, from the cosmos, it's just so strong… The song is… almost like a techno-flamenco, it's sort of like this great dance beat…" The video for "Fuerte": "The video for 'Fuerte' is very sexy, just like the song. The song is very slinky and sexy and has an attitude to it.
