About the Show
Meet Prince Royce, the new star of tropical/urban music. With a bilingual touch to his tunes, the singer-songwriter is preparing to take Latin music by storm, and introduce bachata to the American audience. His first album is a self-titled production, of which two singles have already been released. The first is a bilingual bachata version of the classic "Stand by Me" – also available in English and dance versions – and the current single "Corazón sin Cara." Prince Royce is already making his mark with his debut album, which he describes as an "urban experience within tropical music," where he takes bachata to the next level. Debut album:
"It's my first album…a bachata production… Usually in bachata you don't have violins and stuff like that, so we tried to include a lot of strings…so we could give it a different sound, something a little classical… There are also a couple of other tracks in there that are like pop and a couple of other genres so people can experience that as well."

Taking bachata to a new level:
"Another level in the sense that I want to take bachata to the American culture. I want people that don't know what bachata is about, that don't speak Spanish, I want them to know what it's about and get introduced to it…"

Favorite song:
"My favorite song, I don't know what my favorite song is, all of them. There are 10 songs on the album…there's a 'Stand by Me' dance mix…and I wrote about seven out of the 10 songs…"

On "Corazón sin Cara":
"'Corazón sin Cara' is the second single. Hopefully it does as well as 'Stan by Me' did. But it's about girls that think they're fat or skinny, and they're always in the mirror putting makeup on… I've noticed they're always self-conscience about themselves. It's about how in real love the heart doesn't have a face…"

Who inspires him:
"Growing up I listened to a lot of different genres. I'm a big fan of Juan Luis Guerra, Luis Miguel, Marc Anthony, Usher, Michael Jackson… I grew up listening to a lot of different stuff and I think that's where I get my inspiration from, music in general…"

Goals:
"Short-term goal is to do everything I'm doing now, just a lot of promotion, trying to get my face everywhere, trying to get my music everywhere… And my long-term goal is just trying to be successful and bring out hit records..."
