About the Show
Shaila Dúrcal comes from music royalty. Her mother, the late Rocío Dúrcal, was a darling of Spanish movies from a very young age, and later became one of the greatest performers of Mexican music, despite having been born in Spain. Shaila is now following in her mother's footsteps. The young Spanish artist first recorded a pop album, but followed it with a ranchero production titled "Recordando," as a tribute to her mother. Her following works have been of Mexican music. Her latest release "Así" is a ranchero album, which has already produced two hit singles, "Convénceme" and "El Día Que Me Fui." Shaila is successfully creating her own legacy in the world of Latin music, Mexican music in particular, and "Así" is proof of it!

New album:
"My new album is called 'Así,' because it's my way of thanking my fans, so many people that have given me so much love… It's my little gift for them."
The first single:
"'Convénceme'… I got this song from Luis Carlos Monrroy. It's filled with that struggle that women go through nowadays; the story of strong independent women, who still give everything in a relationship..."
The second single:
"'El Día Que Me Fui' is kind of the continuation of 'Convénceme' because he convinces me to stay in that first song, but it's followed by the sadness of splitting up in this one. This song also shows strength and the will to move forward…"
Favorite music genes:
"I'm a huge fan of music. I listen to all types of things. Brian McKnight is my favorite R&B singer, Stevie Wonder, Beyoce… I love to buy DVDs, and to be able to watch the concerts at home over and over again…"
What's next:
"I think there's something new every day, something new to do, something that I discover about myself, about me as an artist. That's the fun part. You always have to think about your next step, your next songs, what people want to hear you sing…"
