About The Artist

The Set List

This is what we’re singing about. This is where we are in our lives. It’s here and now.

That's Nickelback frontman Chad Kroeger opening up to Walmart Soundcheck about the story behind the band's seventh studio album, 'Here And Now.' Plus, live from the Schottenstein Center in Columbus, Ohio, the Canadian superstars deliver an exclusive stage show - one that’s being billed as their most ambitious yet. Want a front row pass? Check out our exclusive set with Nickelback - and go pick up a copy of ‘Here And Now’ online and in Walmart stores nationwide.

-The Crew at Walmart Soundcheck

On Their Ambitious New Show:
Chad: “We have a stage like we’ve never brought with us before. We have a screen that splits apart in six different sections; we’ve got a flying saucer stage that comes down and picks the entire band up and flies us across the audience. There’s just a lot of insanity!”

On Mixing It Up:
Chad: “We don’t ever want to just have one type of music throughout an entire piece of work that we let out to our fans. I think that would get a little boring. We’ve got some more eclectic sounding stuff on the record and that’s something that we try to do every single time.”

On Their Vision:
Chad: “I think the vision behind making this new record was coming up with 11 new songs! The one thing we don’t normally do when we’re in the studio is we don’t normally over record. We don’t have 26 songs recorded that we choose from. We know right away if this is not working."

On Here And Now:
Chad: “It just felt like this is what we’re doing. This is what we’re singing about. This is where we are in our lives. It’s here and now."

Did You Know?

• Nickelback is: Chad Kroeger (vocals/guitar), Ryan Peake (guitar), Mike Kroeger (bass), and drummer Daniel Adair.

• They’re Canadian. The original band formed in Hanna, Alberta in 1995, and is based in Vancouver, Canada. They are best known for their breakout 2001 hit, ‘How You Remind Me.’

• They’re one of the most successful groups of all time. Nickelback has sold more than 50 million records worldwide, making them the second best-selling foreign act in America (right after The Beatles).

• Their new record is called ‘Here And Now.’ The band’s seventh studio album debuted at number two on the Billboard 200 and has already spawned two kick-off singles: ‘When We Stand Together’ and ‘Bottoms Up.’

• ‘Here And Now’ is in stores now! Pick up a copy of the record online and in Walmart stores nationwide.
This Means War
The third single from ‘Here And Now’ is one of Nickelback's rockiest efforts ever. Written by Chad Kroeger, ‘This Means War’ kicks off the band’s live Walmart Soundcheck set with a powerful bang. Sings Chad: “Say anything you want / But talk will get you nowhere / The only thing you’ve brought was psychological warfare.”

Bottoms Up
Since 2000, Nickeback has watched 15 of their radio hits top the charts. The second single from 'Here And Now' has the second best-selling foreign act in America asking for more. Sings Chad: “This is what it’s all about / No one can slow us down / We ain’t gonna stop until the clock runs out.”

Animals
This Nickelback blast from the past has our Ohio audience on their feet. 'Animals' (from the band’s fifth album, 'All The Right Reasons') shows the Canadian superstars taking a walk on the wild side: "I'm driving black on black / Just got my license back / I got this feeling in my veins this train is coming off the track..."

Lullaby
The fourth single from 'Here And Now' holds special meaning for Nickelback. Explains Chad: “That song felt like a ray of hope for anybody who’s in a very dark place. Letting someone know that there’s always someone to talk to, there’s always somebody who cares. There’s always someone else who can help you through something, and that’s what ['Lullaby'] is supposed to do.”

Burn It To The Ground
Nickelback concludes their Walmart Soundcheck set by bringing the house down. ‘Burn It To The Ground,’ the fourth single from the band’s last album, ‘Dark Horse,’ is a rocker made for the arenas. Sings Chad: “We’re going ‘til the world stops turning / While we burn it to the ground tonight.”
