About The Artist

The Set List

Let’s get it started! Soundcheck heads to Hollywood for a little ‘Boom Boom Pow’ courtesy of the Black Eyed Peas. Clad in futuristic garb, the Peas deliver one of the most powerful Soundcheck sets in recent memory. Check out our interview and performance with Fergie, will.i.am, and co. - and go pick up a copy of their new album, ‘The E.N.D.’ online and in Walmart stores nationwide.

-The Crew at Walmart Soundcheck

On Their New Energy:
will.i.am: “The E.N.D. is an acronym. It stands for: The Energy Never Dies. It’s kind of our way of defining the times. It’s the end of an era; it’s the end of crooked politics, corrupted banks. It’s the end of the concept that America will never graduate from its prejudices. We celebrate the new era and bring in this whole new way of being.”

Taboo: “We visited Metropolis, which is in London where we recorded ‘Monkey Business.’ We were there because Fergie was shooting ‘Nine.’ We got the opportunity to relive those memories and create new memories!”

On Good Times:
Fergie: “It’s a party record! It’s a club record. It’s a dance album. We were so excited to come back and get together and make this record. A lot of the lyrics are about having a good time because when we see each other that’s what we want to do!”

will.i.am: “We’ve always been experimental. We’re mixing dance, electro, freestyle music from the ‘80s... We put it in a blender and it comes out sounding like The Black Eyed Peas!”

On The Process:
will.i.am: “There’s no specific process to writing. Sometimes we have writer's block and fight our way out of it. Sometimes the lyric comes first; sometimes the beat comes first."

Fergie: “It's like a factory. There are several rooms going at one time. We all jump around from room to room. Sometimes your ears get burned out on one song if you do it for too long!"

Did You Know?

• The Black Eyed Peas are: will.i.am, apl.de.ap, Taboo, and Fergie.

• They’ve sold over 20 million albums worldwide.

• They’ve won three Grammy awards as well as numerous other awards from MTV, Teen Choice Awards, American Music Awards, and more.

• Producer will.i.am is a Grammy-nominated producer who has worked with some of the biggest names in the business: Justin Timberlake, Michael Jackson, Mariah Carey, Whitney Houston, to name just a few!

• Their fifth studio album, 'The E.N.D.' stands for: The Energy Never Dies. It's a blend of hip hop, electro-funk, and future rock 'n' roll! Pick up a copy online and in Walmart stores nationwide.
Let The Beat Rock
The Peas get the party started with ‘Let The Beat Rock,’ a remix of the new record’s first single, ‘Boom Boom Pow.’ As Taboo treats the crowd to some clever rhymes, we’re reminded what makes The Black Eyed Peas one of music’s most original bands. Confirms Fergie: “I’m so three thousand and eight, you so two thousand and late…”

Let’s Get It Started
Perhaps no other song on the planet can get a party started like the 2003 thumper, ‘Let’s Get It Started.’ Today, the Peas perform a tweaked version of the club classic - one that has the Soundcheck crowd jumping in the air. Raps Taboo: “Lose control of body and soul. Don’t get ahead. Just jump into it!”

Pump It
“Turn up the radio! Blast your stereo! Right now… this joint is fizzlin’!” The Peas segue the club beats of ‘Let’s Get It Started’ to an inspired track from their 2005 album, ‘Monkey Business.’ Released as the fourth single, ‘Pump It’ is classic Black Eyed Peas party music. Don't believe us? Check the crowd.

My Humps
“What’cha gonna do with all that junk?” asks will.i.am to the energetic audience. The third single from the Black Eyed Peas fourth album, ‘Monkey Business’ is a tongue-in-cheek tale of dollars and curves. As Fergie prances across the stage with a wink and a wave, Taboo asks our insatiable crowd: “You guys want more?!”

Boom Boom Pow
Closing their set with the first single from the new record, the band E.N.D. on a high note. Explains Fergie: “I think ‘Boom Boom Pow’ is a really good introduction to this album. It’s us making a statement about who we are now in what we call the digital afterlife.”
