About The Artist

The Set List

"I think this is the best record that we’ve done.." That’s lead singer Scott Stapp explaining Creed’s triumphant return to the charts after an acrimonious five-year absence. Soundcheck sits down with the multi-platinum rockers and discovers a band traveling ‘Full Circle.’ Check out our exclusive interview with Creed - and go pick up a copy of their new disc, ‘Full Circle’ online and in Walmart stores nationwide.

-The Crew at Walmart Soundcheck

Did You Know?

• Creed is: Scott Stapp (lead vocals), Mark Tremonti (guitars, backing vocals), Scott Phillips (drums, percussion, keyboards), and Brian Marshall (bass).

• They’re from Tallahassee, Florida. Lead singer Scott Stapp was born Anthony Scott Flippen and raised in a strictly religious household. Despite a love for classic rock, young Anthony wasn't allowed to listen to most rock ‘n’ roll.

• The band has sold more than 26 million records in the U.S. alone and won numerous industry awards. Their signature hit, ‘With Arms Wide Open’ picked up a Grammy Award in 2001 for ‘Best Rock Song.’

• The band has reunited after a five-year absence. Their new album, ‘Full Circle’ is in stores now! Pick up a copy online and in Walmart stores nationwide.
On The New Single: 'Overcome:'
Scott: "It’s our introduction to the music entertainment community and our fans. It’s a vibe that came from us feeling almost as if we were an unsigned artist fighting our way back from whatever place in our personal life, professional life… in all areas of our lives. You live and learn. If you lose that mentality of hope, you will never overcome. Between the four of us, that’s what’s fueled us for so many years. I think that’s part of the bond that we share together.”

On Their Comeback:
Scott: “We’ve been down a lot of roads. Some roads we’ve been down before… and some are new. I think it was just the right time for us to get together and make a record.”

On Second Chances:
Scott: “It’s been a real humbling experience. To get a second chance in anything in life is a gift and to be fortunate enough to get that second chance to make a first impression. We went all the way back to the beginning. I think we really captured the energy and the personality and the character of who we were in ’93, ’94… through 2001.”

On ‘Away In Silence:’
Scott: ‘Away In Silence’ means something special to each of us. For me specifically, it was your life flashing before your eyes... and it’s time to make a change. You’re asking for someone not to give up on you when you’ve given up on yourself. That’s something initially that I wanted to share with these three guys. Everyone else’s input and influence in the song just shows the band’s acceptance of each other. I think that poured into every track on the album... and that’s why I think this is the best record that we’ve done.”
