About The Artist

The Set List

THE ARRIVAL:
New York, New York
The Soundcheck crew traveled to the historic Clinton Recording Studios on Manhattan's West Side to meet up with a man known by many names; some say Sean Combs, more recently they say Diddy, but perhaps more accurate, many just call him "The King of New York."

The Myth, The Legend
We had to admit, we were nervous for the King to arrive. Could the man live up to the legend that has become Diddy? As he strode upon the set, all questions were instantly answered as the energy in the room went from flat to electric in an instant. The King had arrived.

THE SET:
Big Band Time
Diddy pulled out all the stops for this performance. With a large backing band of talented musicians and singers, we witnessed a live show that brought a tremendous degree of depth to the hip-hop classics he performed.

Something for Everyone
Speaking of classics, Diddy went through a medley of some of the greatest rap hits of the past decade in a performance none of us will soon forget. From old favorites such as "Mo Money Mo Problems" and the Notorious BIG-inspired "Missing You," to cuts like "Come to Me" and "Get Off" from his new album Press Play, the crew dug the raw energy that Diddy brought to the day.

THE INTERVIEW:
Early Years
"I was born in Harlem ... and the songs you're hearing on my new record are extensions of the sounds I heard growing up in my living room and in the streets of the colorful surroundings of my youth," Diddy told us during in a revealing interview where the normally ebullient young Combs sat quite relaxed as he opened up about his influences, desires and dreams."

What I'm About
"Generally, I make the kind of music that makes people get up from their seats and want to dance," said Combs. "I'm a big believer in 'feel good' music, 'cuz music makes me feel good, so why shouldn't I want to make other people get that same good feeling."

THE POST-SCRIPT:
Didd'ya Know?
We were blown away by what we saw in that New York studio. Over the course of the few hours we had with him, Diddy left a lasting impression of both confidence in his craft as well as a willingness to explore new ground. His creativity, awareness and overall raw energy that he brings to the table has created a new experience for audiences that can only be summed up in one word - Diddy.

Press play and enjoy. It was something great to witness, and we thank Diddy for making it all happen.
