On Country Beginnings:
“I first started singing when I was about three or four years old. I started singing country music in public when I was 13 years old. I’ll never forget the first time I ever played a country song in front of a crowd; I got such a big response that it just never left me. It just kind of changed something within me and it became a passion and a dream of mine. I just really started working at it and doing it every day... doing what it took to get to that next level.”
On The Grand Ole Opry:
“Being inducted into the Opry was quite a surprise. I had no idea that I’d be inducted this soon into my career. It’s given me a lot of confidence too because I know that I’m part of an institution that no other genre has."
On Dreams Unrealized:
“A lot of my dreams have come true already. I’m very thankful. If I die today, I’d be very happy. I guess one thing that I haven’t done is actually sing a duet with Randy Travis on a record. I’ve done a TV show with him; I’ve done shows with him and been at different events with him but I've never actually gone into the studio and done a song with him. I think that would be the icing on the cake for me!”
On Going Haywire:
“I’m very proud of the album song-for-song and as a whole. I’m excited for the fans to have it in their hands finally!”

Firecracker
Josh kicks off his set with ‘Firecracker,’ the first single from his last studio album, ‘Everything Is Fine.’ Accompanied by his banjo and fiddle-playing bandmembers, Josh delivers a feel-good country tune that’s clearly dedicated to his wife: “We got a good thing goin’ and it feels so right. She’s a firecracker… she’s the light of my life!”
I Can Tell By The Way You Dance
Dance seems to be a recurring theme in Turner’s music these days, and ‘I Can Tell By The Way You Dance’ is a country classic about the intuition of the dance floor. “I can tell by the way that you dance… that you’re gonna love me tonight” promises Josh in this faithful cover of Vern Gosdin’s 1984 hit.
I Wouldn’t Be A Man
It's time for Josh to preview his smokin' cover of the Don Williams classic, ‘I Wouldn’t Be A Man.' The song is a testosterone-charged love tune about admitting defeat to the power of love. Sings Josh: “I wouldn’t be a man if I didn’t feel like this. I wouldn’t be a man if a woman like you was anything I could resist.”
Why Don’t We Just Dance
Josh explains the origins of his latest hit record: “It’s actually the first song that we found when we started this record-making process. It makes you want to dance! It makes you want to turn the TV off and forget about all the bad news going on in the world... and concentrate on the one you love.”
Would You Go With Me
Josh closes his Soundcheck set with a fan favorite from his 2006 hit album, ‘Your Man.’ Written by Shawn Camp and John Scott Sherrill, the song earned Josh a Grammy nomination for Male Country Vocal Performance of the Year. Asks Josh: “Would you go with me if we rolled down streets of fire? Would you hold on to me tighter as the summer sun got higher?”
