On Performing:
“I am definitely a people person. I want to reach out and touch you! I love that feeling. Being able to sing to one person and look at you in your eyes is the best feeling to me. That’s the best part about playing live."
On Kelly 3D:
“I just did the music video for ‘Rose Colored Glasses.’ We also shot it in 3D. It was really interesting to see it all come together. I’m using a lot of my hands because it looks like I’m grabbing you! That was a really fun video shoot. To just watch technology come into place and see how far we’ve come. I’m shooting videos in 3D, Mama!”
On Inspiration:
“I get inspiration from the fans. I watch what their emotions are. I watch what they’re feeling when a specific song comes on. It’s just a moment. You want that moment again, and you want to continue to recreate those moments.”
On Keeping It Real:
“I think it’s important to stay close to home. Urban music is what got me here."
On Flying Solo:
“It all rests on my shoulders. That’s a pressure, but not really. You’re growing up. There’s nothing wrong with change; there’s nothing wrong with growing up. The best part is that I have [Beyoncé and Michelle's] support. They’re extremely supportive. I played the record for them both, and they’ll tell me the truth if they like a song or they don’t! That’s the best thing.”
On Hearting Her Girlfriends:
"‘I Heart My Girlfriends’ came about through some of my friends back home in Texas. We would have our 'Girlfriends Night' where everybody would come over. It’s all about being inspired by each other. I need my girlfriends. I heart my girlfriends!”

Commander
Kelly kicks off her Soundcheck set with her much-buzzed-about collaboration with David Guetta, ‘Commander.’ Explains Kelly: “’Commander’ came about in the studio. I remember getting three tracks from David [Guetta] that I absolutely loved.”
When Love Takes Over
The singer’s dance floor-ready collaboration with French DJ David Guetta actually formed the inspiration for her new album. Explains Kelly: “The album came about from my travels. I wanted to actually marry dance music and R&B.”
Dilemma
Taking a step back to 2002, Kelly performs her worldwide hit, ‘Dilemma.’ Released as a collaboration with rapper Nelly, the song took home a Grammy Award for Best Rap/Sung Collaboration. Before launching into an audience singalong, Kelly asks the New York City crowd: “Do we have any singers in the house tonight?!”
Destiny’s Child Medley / Survivor
Just before breaking out a medley of Destiny’s Child’s biggest hits, Kelly gets serious: “Has anybody in here tonight ever overcome any struggle in their life? Any challenging time in your life? Any needing-to-survive-in-the-hardest-times type of moment in your life? Where my survivors at?!”
Bad Habit
"I wanna take everybody back to 2005. Y'all ready?" It's time for 'Bad Habit,' a moving ballad about breaking up and moving on. Sings Kelly: “Have you ever loved somebody? / So much that you were just too blind to see all the pain that they were causing you?”
Rose Colored Glasses
Kelly’s new single is a smart and emotional ballad that holds a special place in the singer’s heart. She explains: “As soon as I heard it, I got a lump in my throat. I listened to it, got a chance to go to the studio, got a chance to sing it, and cried the whole time in the studio!”
