On Living In The Moment:
Hillary: “Live in the moment. Even if that moment isn’t happy it’s all a part of life. Every part of life is beautiful – even the stuff that hurts.”
On ‘Need You Now’ Pressure:
Dave: “We try not to focus on any of the pressure that may have come from the success of ‘Need You Now.’ Naturally we felt a little bit - especially coming off the Grammy Awards! We were blown away by that night and got back to the studio with a newfound excitement. We actually took excitement and the accolades that came from ‘Need You Now’ as a confirmation of what we were doing.”
On Peer Recognition:
Hillary: “Every award show is different. When an award comes from your peers who are doing exactly what you are doing every day, it’s very, very neat.”
On Fan Inspiration:
Hillary: “To hear someone say that this song healed my marriage… I’ll never forget that for the rest of my life. That’s one of the most amazing parts about what we have the honor to do.”
On Writing About Heartbreak:
Hillary: “You need to be vulnerable to fall in love in the first place. There’s so much vulnerability that comes from being heartbroken. I end up writing a lot more.”

We Owned The Night
“Tell me / Have you ever wanted someone so much it hurts?” The opening lines of Lady Antebellum’s new single kickstart their set in a powerful way. Raw and rootsty, ‘We Owned The Night’ recalls the emotional lyrics of ‘Need You Now.’ A sure-to-be classic.
Just A Kiss
The band premiered the first single from ‘Own The Night’ on American Idol, and it was a nerve-racking moment. Explains Hillary: “I’ll speak for myself and say I hadn’t been that nervous to perform in a really long time!” Adds Dave: “Steven Tyler approved!”
Dancin’ Away With My Heart
Fans of the band may have heard this song sneak-previewed ahead of its official release, but few have seen it performed live. Sure to become a fan favorite, ‘Dancin’ Away With My Heart’ shines a spotlight on innocent youth and lost love: “For me / You will always be 18 and beautiful / And dancin’ away with my heart…”
Need You Now
You heard it here first. For their Walmart Soundcheck set, the band delivers a breathtaking acoustic makeover of their signature moment. ‘Need You Now’ not only earned critical and commercial accolades (the tune picked up Song Of The Year and Record Of The Year at the 2011 Grammy Awards), it became an international crossover hit. Maybe it’s the late night lyrics that anyone with a broken heart can relate to. Sings Hillary: “Said I wouldn’t call / But I’ve lost all control / And I need you now.”
American Honey
The second single from ‘Need You Now’ is a classic love song to Americana and the memories of youth. ‘American Honey’ (the band’s third number one) drew in listeners with a nostalgic look at yesteryear. Sings Hillary: “Oh I miss those days / As the years go by / Nothing’s sweeter than summer time / And American Honey.”
I Run To You
It’s time to wrap, and Lady Antebellum closes their Walmart Soundcheck with their first number one single, ‘I Run To You.’ Released as the final single from the band’s 2009 debut album, ‘I Run To You’ also scored the band two Grammy nominations and a new legion of fans. Sings Hillary: “Our love’s the only truth / That’s why I run to you…”
