About The Artist

The Set List

They've been around just three years, yet Latin supergroup RBD has sold more than 10 million records worldwide. Soundcheck caught up with the Mexican singing sensations in Hollywood, California just a few days before band member Christopher Uckermann's 21st birthday. Soundcheck was also celebrating another milestone: Our first exclusive session with a studio audience. How did it go? RBD fans are clearly a passionate bunch and transformed the on-set atmosphere into a wild party; this is one band who knows how to please their fans. Performing their biggest hits and a tease from their highly anticipated fourth studio album, 'Empezar desde Cero,' RBD puts on an exclusive concert you won't want to miss.

We let the fans ask RBD some of their own questions. Here are some of the highlights:

On Being Superstars

Christian: "We actually don't live with the idea that we are superstars. I just think that we are proud to be Mexicans, proud to be Latins, and just to show our music to the world. We feel really privileged to have the opportunity to do this... and it's because of you."

On Why RBD Is a Kiss-Free Zone
Christopher: "We are just friends. The soap opera was different and now, this is RBD... just singing... a pop group. That's why."

On Christian's Rumored Departure
Christian: "No, that's totally false. We are a family, actually. I've known a lot of groups, but I've never known a family that sings, too. We are a family and we love each other!"

On Rebels With Roots
Poncho: "We are regular people with jobs. This is our work. We are Mexicans and we are proud to be Mexicans. I know a lot of Latin people are watching right now; I would like to say to them: Please don't forget your roots and don't forget where you come from. That's the most important thing."

The Closing
Our second Soundcheck set with RBD was a revolutionary session. Not only did we get to invite a live studio audience to experience all the magic, but we also got to witness the evolution of one of the world's biggest bands. (As an unexpected bonus, the crowd rose to their feet to sing a delighted Christopher 'Happy Birthday,') RBD has risen from obscurity to international fame in just a few short years, and it's easy to see that these guys haven't forgotten their fans. The Mexican singing sensations drop their fourth studio album, 'Empezar Desde Cero' this month, and it's going to be a big one. Go out and pick up a copy at a Wal-Mart store today.

Did You Know?

- RBD are: Christian Chavez, Christopher Uckermann, Dulce Maria, Anahí, Maite and Alfonso (Poncho) Herrera.

- They hail from Mexico City. The band actually got their start on a Mexican soap opera called 'Rebelde.' After three seasons, the show ended, setting the path for a successful band career that overwhelmed everybody's expectations.

- The group is currently starring in a Mexican sitcom called 'RBD: La Familia.' The fictitious show follows the day-to-day lives of the band members.

- They're loved by fans and the music industry. RBD has received prestigious industry recognition from the Latin Grammy Awards, the World Music Awards, the Billboard Latin Music Awards and more.

Cariño Mio
RBD are known for getting people up off their seats and their first number is testament to their unshakeable energy. The group last sang this get-up-on-your-feet anthem earlier this year at the Miss Universe 2007 pageant in Mexico City. 'Cariño Mio' is a high-energy dance number that incorporates an infectious blend of English and Spanish lyrics. Whether you understand both - or none - it's easy to understand the universal message: "Como bailas, como cantas," the group teases: "Collaboration, body and soul... It's all about the love that we have inside."

Bésame Sin Miedo
From their third Spanish studio album, 'Celestial,' 'Bésame Sin Miedo' translates to 'Kiss Me Like You Mean It.' Originally written in English by Chico Bennett and Jon Ingoldsby, the song is the album's third hit single. Despite going to radio earlier this summer, it's still getting considerable airplay. The romantic lyrics indicate a serious relationship, although no names are mentioned: "No me importa lo que piensen los démas... Tu eres toda mi verdad." ("I don't care what people think. You are my truth.")

Celestial
The first single and title track from 'Celestial' ('Heavenly'), it's another touching tune that showcases the band's blend of vocals. Written by Carlos Lara and Pedro Damian, 'Celestial' is a rockier groove for the multi-talented group. Sung blissfully by RBD, the divine lyrics describe a relationship inspired by angels: "Por que amar es algo Celestial. Tu no tienes alas..." (Because love is celestial... you don't have wings.")

Dame
Showcasing powerful vocals while dancing their fans into a frenzy, RBD launches into another hit from 'Celestial.' Written by Carlos Lara, 'Dame' ('Give Me') features a funky English rap from beat masters Christopher and Poncho: "Give me a little something else. Give me just a little chance, give me just a little time... You're my everything, my philosophy." When the two heartthrobs get on stage, our live audience goes wild.

Money Money
One of RBD's most beloved hits, 'Money Money' - from their first English language album, 'Rebels' - spins our Soundcheck crowd into a frenzy. The song, featured on 'Rebels' as a bonus Spanish track, is an edgy rock track about love and money; one that's sung strictly with tongue in cheek: "I paid with tears. I won't go crazy for a man who has nothing to give me but a hard heart. Money money... If there is no money, you won't even get my telephone number."

A Tu Lado
Closing the Soundcheck set with a sing-along favorite from their 2005 album, 'Nuestro Amor,' RBD performs 'A Tu Lado' ('To Your Side') with their signature effortless charm. Perhaps no other tune incorporates lyrics that showcase the band's closeness with each other. Other bands may share 'Behind The Music' type horror stories, but RBD is clearly a tight-knit family: "If I turn and you are there... Allow me to be close to you. At your side."
