About the Show
• AWOLNATION is the latest project from Aaron Bruno. Led by the former They Might Be Giants singer, AWOLNATION also features David Amezcua (bass), Kenny Carkeet (keyboard, guitar), Christopher Thorn (guitar), and drummer Hayden Scott.
• The band’s name comes from Aaron’s high school rap identity! Explains Aaron: “I had the nickname ‘AWOL’ for years, from high school. Messin’ around with my friends doing freestyle rap battles. We weren’t good at all!”
• Their debut album is called ‘Megalithic Symphony.’ The first single, ‘Sail,’ is a radio hit and has already sold over 500,000 digital downloads.
• Fans are buzzing about the video for ‘Sail.’ Explains Aaron: “We wanted to make a classic, mysterious, borderline cheesy video. I’m surprised how many people took it seriously. It’s strange and flattering that people care so much about what it is or is not about.”
• Look for AWOLNATION on the road this fall. The band’s Fall Harvest Tour (with Middle Class Rut and Twin Atlantic) begins in Bakersfield, CA on November 2.
• ‘Megalithic Symphony’ is in stores now! Pick up a copy online and in Walmart stores nationwide.
