The indie pop duo discuss the excitement and collaboration in the making of their debut album “In a Tidal Wave of Mystery.”
About the Show
“In a Tidal Wave of Mystery” is the title of our debut album…We’re very proud of it and we’re very happy to see it being received by the world in a positive way.” On how they met: We met on Craigslist. Luckily, we also enjoyed the same kind of music and have similar tastes in music and decided to start a composing team, and then eventually we started a band. On the music video for “Safe and Sound”: It was a very fun video to shoot because we actually learned some dance moves. Not that we were great, but through the magic of editing they made us look good. On collaboration: We collaborated with a lot of cool people… One of the songs, “Farrah Fawcett Hair,” is one of the more interesting, experimental tracks on the album, and that one features Andre 3000 of Outkast fame as well as Shemika Secrest who’s an amazing gospel vocalist. On their newest single, “Kangaroo Court”: [Kangaroo Court] goes deeper with lyrical content and musical experimentation. We’re very excited about showcasing a slightly different side of Capital Cities with Kangaroo Court.
