About the Show
• He’s a singer/songwriter/rapper from Santa Cruz, California. Chris Rene found overnight fame when he placed third on the first season of ‘The X Factor.’

• He won over ‘The X Factor’ judges with a self-penned tune called ‘Young Homie.’ The singer, who was newly sober during the performance, says the song is all about being true to yourself. Explains Chris: ‘I kind of wrote it for all the kids out there. When you’re younger you gotta prove yourself to the older kids. You want to do what they’re doing. This message is to be true to yourself and love yourself.”

• He comes from a musical family. The singer’s grandfather Leon Rene penned the 1958 classic, ‘Rockin’ Robin.’ Explains Chris: “He was friends with Louis Armstrong. They used to hang out and eat gumbo in Louisiana and do jazz shows in the 1920s. Music was everywhere in my life. Music was in my DNA, my blood. I didn’t need lessons – it was already there.”

• His new EP is called ‘I’m Right Here.’ The singer’s major label debut features a re-working of ‘Young Homie’ and the new single, ‘Trouble.’

• ‘I’m Right Here’ is in stores now! Pick up a copy online and in Walmart stores nationwide.
