About the Show
• Crooked X is Forrest French, Jesse Cooper, Josh McDowell and Boomer Simpson.
• About the name Crooked X: “It just sounded cool, and didn’t pigeonhole us to any style; once you get a name, you become that name,” says lead singer Forrest French.
• Have opened for KISS, toured with Ted Nugent and chronicled their lives on the MTV special “Rock N Roll Dream."
• Early bloomers. Forrest explains, "I’d played guitar since I was 4, and Boomer had a drum set. So we got together and jammed. We heard about Jesse; he was going to a different elementary school and he’d been playing since he was 3. Then we found Josh in Guitar Center about a year ago. Everything seemed to fall into place.”
• Parent approved. A well-respected Tulsa musician and music teacher—Cooper’s dad drives the kids to a rehearsal space and accompanies on the road as their guitar tech. Bill Simpson, drummer Boomer Simpson’s dad, is the band’s business manager and drum tech.
