“When I found out about the Grammy nominations, I was on a bus and got a text from my manager saying we hadn’t got a nomination because the only one were expecting was for best new artist. Then my phone started blowing up saying I was nominated for Song of the Year—and that was the last thing on my list to tick off!”

After playing an open mic at The Foxxhole, Jamie Foxx was so impressed by Sheeran’s talent he offered to let him stay at his home for the remainder of his trip. “It taught me whatever position you’re in, you have to be not only humble but helpful. “I think it’s cheating to say I was homeless. I didn’t have a home for 4 years, but those experiences made me who I am and I’m very grateful for the position I’m in now.”

“Moving to London definitely influenced my music; you get a lot more inspiration through the kind of people you meet and London has all sorts of shapes and sizes.”
