About the Show
• Redlight King is Canadian rocker Mark Kasperczyk, or “Kaz” for short. The Hamilton, Ontario native performs under the moniker of “Redlight King.”
• He’s already a star in his native Canada. Though relatively new to American audiences, Redlight King was once nominated for a Juno for ‘Best New Artist.’ Just don’t ask him about his early music days. Explains Kaz: “After 15 years I’m a new artist.”
• His new single, ‘Old Man’ features a sample from a classic Neil Young tune. Explains Kaz: “The new generations don’t know who Neil is, and they should.”
• He’s a big fan of drag racing. Kaz inherited the love of drag racing from his father, and he even owns a rebuilt 1950 Harley. Kaz tells Risers: “It’s in my blood!”
