About the Show
• The Black Keys is a "blues rock band" comprised of Dan Auerbach and Patrick Carney.
• They’re from Akron, Ohio. The pair grew up around the corner from each other and began playing music together as teenagers.
• Their band name was inspired by a "colorful" friend of their fathers. Explains Patrick: "He used to call our home phones and leave ridiculous messages. At the end of the message he’d always say: 'Don’t be a black key. Don’t be a D flat.'"
• Their latest album is a critical and commercial hit. 'Brothers' picked up Best Alternative Music Album at the 2011 Grammy Awards.
