On Marriage And Dancing:
“Since ‘Dancing With The Stars,’ my personal life just totally took over my professional life. I got married two years ago. I moved to Birmingham, Alabama. I now have four stepchildren and I have three children of my own. Life just got kind of crazy!”

On Motherhood And Career:
“The last three years of my life affected making this album in a very positive way because I was so happy and so creative. But then it also delayed the process quite a bit. I wanted whatever I came back with to be the perfect album. I’m really glad I made that choice. I really wanted to be home with my family for awhile. Now things are more settled.”

On Songwriting:
“I wrote a lot of songs for this album. I was being ultra particular! I will just set up writing appointment after writing appointment - I’ll try to do four a week. The Nashville songwriters were so gracious with me, and they came to Birmingham to write.”

On Family:
“Family truly is everything to me. My brother Matt has always been with me in music. He and I wrote most of the songs on this record. He’s always been on stage with me. He’s my bandleader; he’s my closest confidante in the industry. I trust him immensely with everything that I do musically.”

On The Fans:
“I want to say to all my fans that I have been completely overwhelmed with all their support and their love and their patience with me. I knew that I had to take some time off for my family. It’s awesome to see how much my fans have respected that. And then they’re just right back with me. I’m completely grateful.”

A Real Fine Place To Start
Sara Evans kickstarts her Soundcheck set with her 2005 hit, ‘A Real Fine Place To Start.’ It’s a great way for the singer/songwriter to introduce her return to the limelight after a six-year recording hiatus. Proclaims the singer: “I’m gonna do it darling / I could waste time tryin’ to figure it out / But I’m jumping in anyhow.”

Suds In The Bucket
Sara’s 2004 single took her to the top of the country charts – and became a crossover hit. Despite its mainstream appeal, ‘Suds In The Bucket’ is an old-fashioned country tune about eloping for love. Sings Sara: “She left the suds in the bucket / And the clothes hangin’ out on the line.”

A Little Bit Stronger
It’s time for a new track from Sara’s latest album, ‘Stronger.’ Explains the singer: “’A Little Bit Stronger’ is one of my favorite songs I’ve ever recorded – in my whole entire career. It was written by Hillary Scott, Hillary Lindsey and Luke Laird. Even though it took a long time to make this record, I’m so glad because we never would have found this song.”

As If
Sara co-wrote this track, from her 2007 ‘Greatest Hits’ album, with Hillary Lindsey and John Shanks. Sings the Missouri native: “You don’t have to tell me what you’re thinking / You can keep that to yourself / Baby, we got such a good thing goin’ / Don’t show me that you’re someone else.”

What That Drink Cost Me
Time for a highlight from Sara’s new album, a song that the singer co-wrote with producer Nathan Chapman and her brother, Matt Evans. Explains Sara: “He and I wrote most of the songs on this record. He’s always been on stage with me. He’s my bandleader; he’s my closest confidante in the industry. I trust him immensely with everything that I do musically.”
Anywhere
Sara closes her live set with ‘Anywhere,’ an affecting track from her new record, ‘Stronger.’ The singer has said that she has a specific goal in mind when playing live: “I want my voice to sound just like the record. The live show is very musical; I don’t do a ton of dancing or whatever. It’s just very emotional for me. My goal is to be really connected to the audience.”
